SaltStrike fishing app FAQ
Quick answers about regulations, the bite forecast and pricing.
What is SaltStrike?
SaltStrike is a free saltwater fishing app for iPhone. It combines a live bite forecast, tide and weather conditions, a guide to 525 saltwater species, local fishing regulations, and a map of artificial reefs, boat ramps and inlets in one place.
Does SaltStrike show fishing regulations like bag limits and size limits?
Yes. Each species shows the rules for where you are standing: whether you can keep it, the minimum or keeper size, the bag limit and the season. Rules are matched to your state and county. Regulations change, so always confirm with your state wildlife agency before you keep a fish.
How does the bite forecast work?
SaltStrike rates each species Excellent, Good, Poor or Horrible for your location right now, using tide, wind, water temperature, moon phase and time of day. The Prime Fishing screen shows your best windows today and the species most likely to be biting.
Which fish are in the app?
The guide covers 525 saltwater species, including redfish (red drum), snook, tarpon, mahi-mahi (dolphinfish), king mackerel, cobia, striped bass, summer flounder, red snapper, tautog, wahoo and many more. Every species lists habitat, season, best bait and lures, and where to find it.
Is SaltStrike free?
SaltStrike is free to download. Ads support the app, and a one-time $2.99 in-app purchase called Remove Ads turns them off for good.
What phones does SaltStrike work on?
SaltStrike runs on iPhone with iOS 18 or later. An Android version for Google Play is coming soon.
Can I share a fish with a friend?
Yes. Every species has a share button that creates a link like saltstrikeapp.com/species/1. If your friend has SaltStrike installed, the link opens that species in the app.
